The FIDDLESTIX© 25th Anniversary Celebration rolls onward. Here at the studio we are always trying to reach out to the community with projects that benefit organizations. Here’s a glance at the very first PINHEAD© original cartoon to ever leave the studio vaults. This was created for The National Marfan Foundation. It was auctioned off in Palo Alto, California at Stanford University during 2007.

The huge framed cartoon included the original sketch as well as the final inked and colored finished project. I was so concerned about this reaching it’s auction destination it had to be hand delivered.

Here’s what the sketch work and inks looked like fresh off the drawing boards.

Woo Hoo! Behold cartoon fans. The Special Edition FIDDLESTIX© strips are in full force. I missed creating the newspaper strip format for this feature instead of the “Sunday Only” single panel gags. I thought for the 25th Anniversary I would create a few strips as homages to some of the greats in the cartooning world. Here is the strip that I think I finally got that Bill Watterson feel. It only took me a couple of tries to actually produce something that I think came close. Kind of difficult to match a phenomenal artist such as Mr. Watterson.
