We interrupt your normal programming of the syndicated newspaper funnies for a special announcement.

The auction went live May 10th, 2018. If you were interested in grabbing some original art from the drawing boards here is your chance. I sure would appreciate you fine readers of the syndicated funnies helping support a fantastic organization. Originals from the drawing boards rarely leave the studio. Look what was available last year. You don’t want to miss this.

Look at the cool material directly below. That is one of the items that was suppose to be auctioned off, but got lost in the postal system. I still would appreciate you fine folks that support the funnies to go grab some original art that will be auctioned off from other scribblers around the world. I’m trying to find out what happened, sorry cartoon fans.

Don’t miss your chance friends. I sure would appreciate you fine readers of the syndicated funnies helping support a fantastic organization. Originals from the drawing boards rarely leave the studio.

Here is a glance from previous auctioned material that was picked up by art lovers around the world!

Stunted Growth

Posted March 30, 2018 By Michael Pohrer

HUGE THANKS for all your support in the Doodle4NF auction during the previous years. I appreciate you fine supporters for bidding on the original art from the studio. Send us photos of your framed artwork. Thanks again, I don’t know what happened this year. My art was lost in limbo and Doodle4NF didn’t send out more official cards for me to scribble on in time for this years festivities.

Here’s a look at some of the art that was up for grabs, both originals sold with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

ATTN: FELLOW CARTOONISTS we are lining up the guest cartoonists for the 30th Anniversary of FIDDLESTIX©. We sure would enjoy seeing guest strips from other fellow cartoonists to help celebrate the 30th Anniversary milestone along with the other amazing artists already on the bandwagon. Throwing this out  to give other creators a chance to join in on the festivities.

Addison Morton “MortWalker

September 3, 1923 – January 27, 2018

Sad News – The cartoon world has lost a legend! Addison Morton “MortWalker,  a World War II veteran who satirized the Army with antics of the lazy private “Beetle Bailey,” died Saturday. He was 94.

Walker died at his home in Stamford, Conn., Walker began publishing cartoons at age 11 and was involved with more than a half-dozen comic strips in his career, including “Gamin and Patches,” “Hi and Lois,” “Boner’s Ark” and “Sam & Silo.” But he found his greatest success drawing the private “Beetle Bailey”, along with the other denizens at the fictional Camp Swampy for nearly 70 years. The character that was to become Beetle Bailey made his debut as Spider in Walker’s cartoons published by the Saturday Evening Post in the late 1940s. Walker changed Spider’s name and launched “Beetle Bailey” as a college humor strip in 1950.

I had the honor of knowing Mort for many years now, and he was a huge supporter of the scribbles from my humble drawing board. Mort created many of the strips that I always turn to first on the printed pages. I will miss speaking with him, he was such a warm and great individual. Simply at a loss. There will never be another cartoonist that will compare to the awesomeness that was Addison Morton “MortWalker.

Ha! I will always smile when I think of my friend. Here is some coolness that Mort personally gave me. It has been hanging proudly in my humble studio since I received it. A great memory that I will always remember is that I would make old school hand drawn birthday cards for Mort. The second image is the inside image from the last card I sent him. Mort as “Sarge” alongside PINHEAD as “Beetle.”
